Welcome Back

I'm back after a long long break. Back with clear mind, out of stress and refreshed and ready to rock my world :-) . Back with new designs  and styles as well. I'm ready to take any order right now, yaaaay Just email me with design code, color of fabric you would like to go with, you can check this PAGE to help choosing color. Oh and the most important news is that I have new designs will add images as soon as I can. Hope you all miss me as I do :-D these days I'm getting really busy to get back to my track; exhibition is on the way, yeah will post about that later. I'm happy that again I can look for fabrics, buy accessories and match between them ahhh I love my work!!!
Anyhow, this was quick post just to let you know I'm back to my passion and can't wait to take your orders. LOVE YA!!

Being away..not my choice

Yes being away not my choice. I'm a person who can spend hours surfing on the net, specially blogging I can do it everyday but it's not in my hand. Most of you knows I'm a wife and a mom of two girls who aged between 4 and 1. Which means less time for myself; yes I do waking up early but still not enough, I need to check emails for orders, I need to design, go checking for new materials and checking tailors as well. Kids needs attention and activities to keep them busy and the biggest activity is there mom!! I love being around them, see them laughing and crying. Jana is almost 4 years and she want to do activities all the time or (her phrase) :mom let us go to the mall I don't want to play just lets go around and check new dresses!! how sweet right!. Maybe shes willing to be designer like her mom ;) . Yara who just turn 1 year this week, shes always busy I mean each second she never sits or rest always in a mission. If shes quite that means shes into something. The good news, I'm spending unforgettable times with them and the bad news, I cant think while they are around. Here come my decision; I'm taking break for almost 3 months to clear my mind and have regularly activities for my kids, regularly routine then I'm back in the track. But that doesn't consider me giving up (will never happen) I just need to clear my mind because my schedule is full (drawing, designing and sewing). New designs will be mention in quick posts at mid of the night ;) I'm sad that I'm going to leave my passion for a while but my family needs me and I have to respond to that call. Hope you all understand what I'm going through. Love ya all.                                                          
 

My attempt in drawing

Recently I start a new hobby you can say, when I start with it I feel I'm flying to other world; that's why I prefer doing it in quite time, well when my kids are sleep or out with their dad. I start drawing and painting in scarves (shailah), it's something fashionable these days and I wanted to do something different than the usual designs. I used different tutorials which gave me the motive to start. I start doing my logo and here we go.. teraraaaa

 I mixed between pearl color and deep sky blue color and that was the result. Those are the colors and brush I've been using:

recently I bought new acrylic fabric colors with new brushes for different styles and thickness. I even got more excited after that and drew this rose:

You can see I've add some crystals in vermilion (level of orange) and limegreen (level of green) color.. I was so happy and excited to get those results, you can check those tutorials where I found them very useful and easy, the only problem it's in Arabic *errrgh* but maybe you can understand the steps from images. Sorry about that:

International rates

For long time now I was looking for shipping company who can deliver my abayas and scarves outbound. Here in Oman we can't sell anything online sadly :( but for import I went to several shipping companies over here there prices kills me; how I'm suppose to send abaya which worth 30 OMR/77.9 $ by the price 40 or 50 OMR/103 or 130 $ it's not fair to my customers.

One day I just stopped by our national post office (Oman Post) I spoke to their employees and they were friendly and helpful, they even gave me book about rates of postal services. I didn't know they have express delivery as well which takes four days to deliver. Recently I made abaya to one of my sweet customers and send it by Oman Post to the States; I can't wait to hear from my friend what she think about her abaya. My next post will be about her abaya so keep waiting for updates ;)

Finally

I was waiting for a while now for my business identification card (at least that what I call them), yes I got my business card maybe a month ago but got lazy and busy to take their photo. It was long way till I got the last touch, thanks to the designer Ali Al Farie from Ummati fashion in facebook you can check his site. I know Ali it took long way till we (You, Mahfoodh & I) decide this last touch. Thank you for being patient with us, I love it.

There are two samples of card Arabic and English, the other side shows more details..(P.O.Box, site and others..) who ever interested in having this card just let me know; any way you will get one whenever you purchase shailah :)

On Spotlight - part 01

My big goal when I started my business is spread the word; how to be success women while you are at home, how to listen to the voice inside you, how to say YES to all your challenges..Just how????

I got that chance when I had an interview with one of our best readable newspapers in Oman The Week; I was in the issue #390 on Wednesday 25 August. The article was by Emma Williams, lovely person. You can check here. Ohhh no!! I couldn't download or add PDF file here will check with my husband and ask him for help :S

I was not that happy with the photo as it shows me fat (while I'm not), one more thing not mentioning my business name or where to find me :( when I asked Emma about that she said it's there policy not to mention the person's site, email or phone number but at least people started to know me from facebook as she mentioned that in the article. Thank you The Week specially Emma for giving me this sweet opportunity to SPREAD THE WORD ;)

On the Way

It has been a while since I posted. Ramadan is the best month for the whole Muslims a round the world; well it's about getting more closer first to God and second to poor, needy and orphans people. So it's a giving month. I share with all of that Ramadan is a reason to get closer to Allah plus customers orders. Till the last minute I'm still having orders from my clients for Eid. Still stitching and most are sold thanks God. We did the same previous designs only this time with different colors of course. Their are some new simple designs will be happy to share it with you soon, but honestly can't wait to start my new collection.

As usual my collection will be from my unique drawings :) Till now I'm confused what designs to start with, I kept drawing and drawing every minute every second while I'm out or spending time with family LOL. This time I will add some traditional touches from our traditional outfits inspired from lovely home Oman. As you can see below photos of some of the outfits from different regions. 

Also will use different touches, I'll add pearls, laces and pieces of colorful fabrics. There will be one of the kind shailah (scarf) and the most expensive one as well; will add pieces of laces, crystals, chains woow can't wait to start :) what about you?!

New Summer Collection 02-10 is OUT

Excited but not patient

Yes I can't wait till I see my last collection of shailah. Several nights I couldn't sleep when ever I got an idea, design or image in my mind, I run and draw it crazy haa :)

I was thinking quite a time now to share my excitement with my sweet followers, to make you ready for my next post, new collection of  summer No.02  yay.

This collection will be different from last time, it's more about chiffon materials printed and plain also using different colorful crystals, handmade embroideries, more pink color in different shades. I used as well organza material as a unique piece in one of my scarves.

I really don't know how to name colors of my materials but hope color lovers will help me, I'm in love with this site, it refresh my mind for new designs and colors... delicious :) Now will show you how I was getting these materials ready to take it to tailor; yeah I know everything looks messy but come on that how designers work (but of course with table & other equipment).
