What is Abaya?

The Abaya is the national dress of most of the muslim countries espicaly in Gulf. It is the most common garment worn by Muslin women. The Abaya is essentially an overgarment worn by Muslim women and is considered the traditional "hijab" or Islamic dress.
An Abaya is a large fabric of clothing that covers the entire body except for the face, hands and feet. Most of the traditional Abayas are available in black color. Abayas are draped over the shoulders or head and can be worn with a niqab, which is a face veil to cover the face partially except for the eyes. Abayas are often teamed with long black gloves in order to cover the hands. The traditional significance of this attire lies in retaining the modesty in fashion and clothing for Muslim women.
